Two dietitians known for their ‘friendly’ relationship with food and mouth-watering recipes have revealed how to make their healthy creamy chicken satay dish.

The healthy recipe feeds four and is super easy to ‘whip together’ according to the best friends who have amassed 37,000 followers.

‘It’s a perfectly balanced bowl with the most delicious and creamy satay sauce drizzled over the top,’ they said. 

The dish calls for chicken, brown rice and broccoli as the core components and soy sauce, curry powder, peanut butter, honey, coconut milk and flour for the sauce.

The women start by boiling their chicken for about 15 minutes before slicing lengthways.

The satay chicken recipe appeared to be very popular with the page’s 37,000 followers

They then make the sauce by combining all of the ingredients except the flour together in a pan.

Once the sauce starts to simmer nicely on a medium heat they add the flour, stirring it in slowly to help thicken the sauce.

They then add the chicken, cooked rice and greens to a bowl before drizzling the sauce over the top.

The women posted the recipe after their recent chicken curry exploded in popularity.

‘If you loved our satay chicken curry you will love this little mix up,’ they said.

And their followers were impressed with many leaving comments thanking them for the recipe. 

‘Every time I see this my mouth waters. Adding it to my meal plan this week,’ one woman said.

How can I make this satay chicken recipe at home? 

INGREDIENTS

Two large chicken breasts

Steamed broccoli

Cooked brown rice ( two cups) 

For the sauce:

1 tbs soy sauce/tamari 

1/2 tsp curry powder 

2 1/2 tbs peanut butter

1 tbs honey

200ml lite coconut milk

1 tsp plain flour

METHOD

1. Bring a pot of water to the boil.

2. Add chicken and boil for 15-20 mins or until cooked.

3. Remove and slice lengthways. 

4. Combine all satay ingredients except flour.

5. Heat in a pan over medium heat until simmering.

6. Add flour and stir until it slightly thickens.

7. Remove from the heat.

8. Add cooked rice and greens to a bowl.

9. Top with chicken and satay sauce.
