Does Hermes, DPD and Yodel deliver on a bank holiday?

IF you're doing a spot of online shopping over the bank holiday, you'll want to know whether delivery companies are still working.

The bank holiday lands on Monday, August 31 – and millions of workers will have the day off to meet up with friends and family and enjoy the sunshine.

We explain which delivery companies won't be working over the long weekend.


You won't get your parcel delivered over bank holiday with DPD.

The courier company is closed on all major bank holidays – and that includes Christmas.

It might mean that your package could be delivered later than usual.

However, you can track where your parcel is using DPD's online parcel tracking tool.


Hermes usually delivers packages seven days a week – that includes weekends.

But Hermes is closed on Sunday and Monday – which means your parcel might arrive later than usual.

Yodel confirmed on its Twitter page that if you're due a parcel on bank holiday Monday, you'll get it the next day on Tuesday instead.

It's drivers aren't working over the holiday.

If you're expecting a package from UPS, be prepared to have it delivered the next day on Tuesday.

The company says on its website that there may be delays to deliveries over public holidays and to factor in a one day delay.
