Harry and Meghan give fans a glimpse of their stunning wedding invitations with unique signature
Prince Harry andMeghan Markle have given viewers a glimpse of their wedding invitations as part of their new Netflix documentary, which has been released today (8 December).
As part of the show, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have promised to tell their side of the story by giving fans a peek at their lives both in and out of the royal family.
And during one clip, the pair gave viewers a more intimate look behind the scenes as they showcased the stunning wedding invitations that each of the guests received ahead of their big day back in 2018.
Panning across the invitation, fans could see that the pair had opted for a distinctly botanical theme – in keeping with the sophisticated vibe of their Windsor wedding, which featured floral bridal tributes and white arches.
Intricately printed on white card, the invitations featured black calligraphy which spelled out the location and time of the event, as well as encouraging guests to join the newlyweds for a spot of “dancing”.
In read: “Please join us for dinner and dancing to celebrate our wedding. Saturday, 19th May 2018, 7.30 o’clock. Frogmore House, Windsor Home Park.”
Signing off the sweet invite, Harry and Meghan kept things casual and wrote: “Love Haz & Meg xx.
Meanwhile around the calligraphy – which Meghan is known to have taken up as a hobby – were a series of water coloured flowers, including white roses and daisies.
Elsewhere in the documentary, the couple have opened up about the romantic love story and have detailed how their first date didn’t exactly go according to plan.
After Harry was left running 30 minutes late, the former Suits actress was led to believe that her date had an “ego”.
She said: “He kept texting 'I'm in traffic, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry'", as Harry chimed in that he was "panicking, freaking out and sweating”.
Meghan said: “Then, I didn't know him, so I was like 'oh is this what he does? Got it. Like this I'm not doing. I'm not going to sit and wait'.”
As Harry asked her, giggling: “What is that supposed to mean?" Meghan said: "Like, one of those guys who has that much of an ego that any girl would sit around and wait a half hour for you.”
But despite their rocky start, the pair’s relationship has continued to go from strength to strength, with Meghan’s pal Serena Williams calling them “best friends”.
Speaking on the documentary, she said: “I’m looking at it through the lens of my friend, not a Princess. They as a couple are so tight and rely on each other so much, and are each other’s best, best friends.”
