I am worried my boyfriend has given me an STI after seeing explicit gay texts

DEAR DEIDRE: I AM worried my boyfriend has given me a sexual infection.

I am a girl aged 22 and he’s 28. I saw messages he’d sent on a gay dating app about meeting men for bareback sex.

He says he was being blackmailed but money is never mentioned in the messages.

We haven’t had any sexual contact for weeks. He blames that on stress.

Now I may have this STI. Where can I get a sexual health check without it going on record?

DEIDRE SAYS: Get it checked at your local genito-urinary medicine (GUM) clinic and it won’t show on your health records.

Go to nhs.uk and click on Services Near You, or phone 0300 123 7123.

But whether or not you have an infection, please end this relationship.

Your boyfriend may be uncertain about his own sexuality but that’s no excuse for cheating on you like this.
