Inside Love Island star Tyla Carr’s stunning renovated home at Christmas

Former Love Island star Tyla Carr has shown off her incredible home at Christmas.

The 28 year old will be enjoying her first Christmas in the abode after transforming the three-bedroom house into a stunning five-bedroom mansion complete with a walk-in wardrobe.

And now the reality star has exclusively opened the doors to her home for OK! and divulged on her plans for the big day.

Tyla will be joined at Christmas by her dad and her adorable three year old son Archie, who she shares with her ex-boyfriend Rossco Edmonds.

“Archie is so excited for Christmas,” Tyla tells OK!. “He’s at an age now where he understands it and Santa is coming! He’s so excited for the presents and we’re going to make it so magical with snow and everything.”

The mum-of-one also opened up about co-parenting on Christmas Day, and how she and Rossco will split their time with their little boy.

She said: “His dad will come over in the morning to see him open his Christmas presents and then we’ll have lunch together and then he’ll go off to his dad’s for the rest of the day.

“It will be lovely. I’ll be doing the cooking and I’ll make an array of things.”

Tyla purchased the home with her dad – who had only seen pictures of the property – when she was pregnant with Archie, and the pair then set about transforming it into the incredible house it is today.

And she admits it was emotional seeing her dream house, which is on the outskirts of Surrey, take shape.

“I cried happy tears seeing it all come together. I couldn’t stop crying,” she says.

“To design the whole thing and then see it take shape after all the stress was emotional. Doing something from scratch is a completely different ball game, so much goes into it.

“Archie keeps saying, ‘I love mummy’s new house!’ It was an overwhelming, lovely feeling to see it all come together.

“The first six weeks it was a little bit scary when the work was being done me and Archie wee sharing one room together and sleeping on a mattress on a floor!”

Of having her own walk-in wardrobe she adds: “I’ve wanted a walk-in wardrobe for years, since I was a little girl.

"I still look at this place and think, ‘How did we managae to do all this?’ I can’t help but pinch myself.

As well as five gorgeous bedrooms in the main house, there is also an annexe at the end of the garden which is a full working studio apartment.

Tyla split from Rossco when Archie was just seven months old, but she admits the pair “get on” for the sake of the three year old.

Opening up about what her relationship is like with Rossco, who she dated for 18 months, Tyla tell us: “I wouldn’t say we get on really well, but we get on because we both love Archie so much.

“We have both been brought up in broken homes ourselves and we just said we would never be those parents and put that crap on our kids.

“For his birthday we went out for a birthday meal together and we do loads of things together, especially if it’s the first time Archie is doing something, we like to do it together and share the experience.

“We get on for that period of time, it’s more the knot and grit of things, but we just try to keep it very simple and not get into any conversations like that and just keep it about Archie.”

She continued: “We have our disagreements like everyone does, like any normal couple would, but we keep it away from Archie and keep it simple between us.

"It was never going to work out between us but we keep it simple for Archie.”

And even though she might currently be single, Tyla says she would “absolutely love” more children in the future.

“My friend is pregnant and we were talking the other day and I was saying I’d love another one. It’s all in good time but I 100% want more children!

“I used to be a nanny for ages back in the day and when anyone used to ask me what I wanted to be when I was older I would always say a mum.”

As for who she’s still in touch with from Love Island nearly five years on, Tyla says she still speaks to a few of her fellow co-stars.

She said, “I still chat to Georgia Harrison, Gabby [Allen] and Kem. It’s crazy it will soon be five years since we were all on the show.

“I love that I did the show and it was quite overwhelming after, but life has definitely mellowed out now and I prefer it that way.

"I still gets lots of work from the show and on Instagram, and I’m so glad I did it.”
