Jennifer Lawrence Just Wore the Sneakers We Swore We'd Never Wear Again

If you saw Jennifer Lawrence out in New York City yesterday you probably didn't notice. Not because she was necessarily incognito but because her outfit really channeled a quintessential New York look we've sworn to leave behind years ago.

Lawrence has been wearing great coats recently, most notably a spring Prada coat from two days ago, and just yesterday she was seen in a green plaid coat with a large collar. She also seems to officially endorse the anti-skinny jeans rhetoric as of late with a pair of wide-leg jeans. But it was her New Yorker hat and Adidas Stan Smith sneakers that made her look like any other 30-something millennial in the city.

Adidas Stan Smith sneakers are the type of wardrobe item that'll probably unlock some past memories you'd rather not remember. They were wildly popular in the 2010s, and it was hard to go anywhere without seeing a huge crowd of girls wearing them. And much like any other over-saturated trend, they fell off the face of the earth almost as quickly as they made an appearance. But Lawrence is here to say they're back.

Courtney Cox also wore a pair not too long ago, and old-school comfortable sneakers are having a bit of a moment right now (Keds included). Plus, there's nothing wrong with Stan Smiths. They're easy to style, comfortable to wear, and cost under $100. They were beloved for a reason. But you might want to get ahead of the trend before it's truly everywhere again.
