Lidl’s new ‘outstanding’ £13.99 red wine is a celebrity favourite and normally sells for hundreds of pounds
Lidl is selling a style of wine adored by celebs including George Clooney, and the price tag will have you hooked!
The ‘Super Tuscan’ wine is named Bolgheri Medici Riccardi and it scored a whopping 92 out of 100 in Lidl’s ‘Summer Wine Tour’ as well as being classed as outstanding by Masters of Wine.
So, it’s safe to say the bottle is a good one and you can get your hands on it at Lidl for just £13.99, which is a total bargain when you consider this wine has been known to sell for hundreds of pounds.

The quality and nature of Super Tuscan wines mean they often have a hefty price tag attached but luckily you can while away the hours sipping the delicious offering for far less.
The wine hails from the Bolgheri vineyards of one of Italy’s most historic wine regions and tastes you can expect are ones of deep, dark fruit with oaky notes included too.

If you’re looking to stock up on wine then you’re in luck, as Lidl also has a number of other wines which have scored highly.
Grüner Veltliner Alto Adige, £8.99, has a tremendous score of 91 out of 100 and is famed for its bright pear scented flavours.

There’s also the delicious Vignamatta Veneto Bianco, £7.49, from Verona in Italy which has scored 90 out of 100 and boasts aromas of honey, pear and rich fruit.
This isn’t the first time Lidl has introduced an exceptional wine into its stores.
In 2017, a bottle of red wine named Fortezza Dei Colli Chianti Classico Reserva sold at Lidl took home a gold award at the International Wine Challenge, coined the “Oscars of the wine world.”
The £6.99 Chianti was tested against similar wines costing over twice the price and managed to grab the first place position.
