McDonald’s customer baffled at staff reply after finding burger missing key item

A McDonald’s customer was left baffled at the response she received from staff when she complained that a key item was missing from her burger.

Holly, from Yeovil, Somerset, had ordered a Big Tasty and splashed out an extra 50p for bacon.

However when she went to tuck into her burger at home she claims there was no bacon to be found.

She says she then rang the restaurant to complain and claims a manager insisted that the bacon was there and that she ‘should look harder’

The manager allegedly admitted the rashers were smaller than usual – and told Holly to check if it was hidden under the cheese.

Holly told Somerset Live: "I thought I would push the boat out and spend the 50p extra on the bacon version, only to find it has none in it.

"I phoned them up and was told by the manager that there was a new supplier for the bacon and that the rashers were really small.

"She then suggested that I look under the cheese, which I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry about!"

Holly admitted that the restaurant would be giving her a replacement, next time she goes in but thought it was "a joke for it to be so different to the burger that she was ordering."

A spokesperson for McDonald’s said: We’re disappointed when we hear of any experiences that fall short of our customers’ expectations, and apologise that on this occasion the product was not up to our normal high standards.

"We would encourage the customer to contact our customer services team where the matter can be discussed and actioned as appropriate.”
