DEAR DEIDRE: MY fiancée and I were due to marry this summer but she called it off after she found out about my stupid affair.

It was a huge mistake and, to be honest, I still don’t know why I did it.

I think I just liked the attention and the fact it distracted me from the stress of wedding planning.

I’m 39 and my fiancée’s 32.

She found out about the affair when she was doing the laundry and spotted lipstick on my shirt and underwear.

By the time I got home from work, she’d packed up my things and dumped them on the drive.

She’s refused to speak to me since.
