My stepdaughter is a Covid denier and has broken lockdown rules
DEAR DEIDRE: MY stepdaughter believes Covid is nothing more than a hangover, even though she had the virus herself after she and her partner broke lockdown rules.
She says the vaccine is a conspiracy and she won’t be getting the jab.

One of my closest friends died from Covid last year, which just adds to my anger towards her.
I’m 41 and my partner’s 47. His daughter is 28. I don’t want her going near my six-month-old baby boy if she won’t have the vaccine.
She is the only person in the family who isn’t having the jab and who believes in the daft conspiracy theories.
I’m unsure how I should handle this situation.
DEIDRE SAYS: It can be incredibly difficult to reason with someone who won’t listen to facts. Have you told her how much this is affecting you?
Explain that if she doesn’t have the jab there will be consequences. She’ll be stopped from having any contact with her half-brother and faces being alienated by the rest of the family.
My support pack on Standing Up For Yourself describes the best techniques to use for talking to her without it causing an argument.
