The Belgium royal family has assembled for what is sure to be a festive evening at a traditional Christmas concert at the Brussels Royal Palace.

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde were joined by their three children Crown Princess Elisabeth, Princess Eleonore, Prince Emmanuel and Prince Gabriel – who put on a brave face despite having injured his foot.

The 15-year-old Belgian prince posed alongside his family in front of the palace’s Christmas tree wearing a foot brace this evening.

It is not clear how the teenager injured himself and the MailOnline has contacted the Royal Palace for a comment.

Despite his brace the prince looked smart, posing for photos in a two piece suit with a festive red tie with younger brother Emmanuel, 13, opting for a similar ensemble but with a blue tie.

The heir apparent Elisabeth, who has returned from Wales, where she is studying to Belgium for Christmas, looked elegant in a black and white zig-zag printed dress for the occasion.

The couple’s youngest child Eleonore, 10, was pretty in a red velvet pleated dress with matching red tights for the occasion.

Despite his brace the prince looked smart, posing for photos in a two piece suit with a festive red tie alongside his siblings and parents 

The family are back together as a six after Princess Elisabeth returned from her studies in Wales for the Christmas break

Queen Mathilde, meanwhile, did away with her usual gowns and opted for a chic pair of black pants and a wrap around white blouse.

The 45-year-old mother-of-four added a touch of bling in the form of a diamante necklace and wore her hair in a bouffant style.

The king himself looked his dapper best in a two piece suit complete with a burgundy tie as he lead the way during this evening’s event.
