HOLIDAY VIBES

If the travel traffic light system has left you too nervous to book a holiday abroad this summer, here’s another form of escapism. Swap black and dreary for bright and cheery by wearing a print that transports you to sunnier climes.

TRAVEL AGENTS

Our desire to travel again has been captured by designers, many of whom sent vivid colours and textures down this year’s spring/summer catwalks. Versace in particular shouted optimism with bejewelled starfish. If fun has been in short supply, this dress I’m wearing from Stine Goya, which has women dancing across the front, has it in spades.

Camilla Ridley-Day shared advice for embracing this season’s escapism prints trend at any occasion. Pictured: Dress, £310, Stine Goya at featherand stitch.co.uk; earrings, £140, monicavinader. com; sandals, £89, Carvela at kurtgeiger. com

SAY IT LOUD

It’s surprising what a confidence boost this type of print can give; you’ll certainly make an entrance and everyone will want to talk about what you’re wearing.

And a print that is this busy doesn’t draw attention to one particular area, so forget any worries over lockdown pounds.

ALL AT SEA

Polish brand Cosel is dedicated to women who love nature, and features vibrant styles like this Turks dress (below) in a coral reef design. Boden’s skirt is a classic easy-to-wear style that works well in this boat print.

As for Rixo’s mermaids on a sealike silk, they look as though they might swim off into the sunset.
