‘The Masked Singer’ Recap: An Olympic Gold Medalist & More Are Revealed In Triple Elimination
The season 4 semi-finals turned the competition up a notch with a triple elimination. Two popular singers and an Olympian were revealed when they were unmasked on ‘The Masked Singer.’
The Masked Singer season 4 is nearing closer and closer to the finale. The semi-finals have arrived, and 3 masked singers will be eliminated. The Super 6 will face off in pairs, starting with Seahorse vs. Crocodile.
The Seahorse is up first. She admits that she was shy as a child and is stepping out of her comfort zone for the semi-finals by incorporating choreography into her performance. Her super clue for this week is a telescope. She sings the Bruno Mars hit “That’s What I Like.” For the final clue this week, the masked singers have to reveal who they’re connected to on the panel. The Seahorse is connected to Nick Cannon! He’s been a “great host” to her. The guesses include Tori Kelly, Kesha, and Sia.
Next up is the Crocodile. The Masked Singer has given him the freedom to explore all different genres of music. He’s picked a song that’s “deeply personal” to him. The Crocodile is doing the show for his 2 kids, whom he drives 8 hours to see after each show. He brings down the house with his version of Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want To Miss A Clue.”
The Crocodile has a connection to guest panelist Craig Robinson. He admits that he’s “excited” to share the screen with him again. The notable guesses are AJ McLean, Nick Carter, and Nick Lachey. The Crocodile wins this face-off, which means the Seahorse is going home.
The Jellyfish and Mushroom go head-to-head next. The Mushroom admits that the pandemic has “taken someone close to me.” His super clue is a clock, which is set to 3 o’clock. The Mushroom slays his performance Amy Winehouse’s “Valerie.” For his final clue, he’s connected to Robin Thicke. The Mushroom says this is not the first time they’ve met! The panelists guess Jaden Smith, Jordan Fisher, Leslie Odom Jr., and Keegan Michael Key.
The Jellyfish takes the stage after Mushroom. Her super clue is the Eiffel Tower. She wows with her rendition of Rihanna’s “Stay.” Her final clue is that she’s connected to Ken Jeong. They’ve never met, but she’s tried! The panelists throw out the names Grimes and Gabby Douglas. The Mushroom wins this face-off, which means Jellyfish is going home.
The final showdown of the night is the Popcorn vs. Sun. Popcorn goes first. The Popcorn is all about spreading positivity. She admits she’s been crying under her mask after hearing the panel’s sweet comments. She’s been performing since all the other masked contestants were in diapers. Her super clue is a stop sign. Popcorn belts out “Better Be Good To Me” by Tina Turner.
Popcorn has a connection to Jenny McCarthy. She says they’ve definitely talked before but never about how they’re both “published authors.” The guesses include Bette Midler and Mary Wilson.
The final performance of the night is the Sun. She drops a clue that she used to be in dance competitions when she was younger. The show has awakened the competitor inside of her. She’s always had a “really hard time” expressing her feelings, too. Her super clue is her breathing fire.
The Sun leaves everyone stunned with her performance of Billie Eilish’s “When The Party’s Over.” Many of the panelists tear up! The Sun turns out to be connected to Nicole Scherzinger. The last time they met was in the bathroom! The panelists guess LeAnn Rimes, Kate Hudson, and Emilia Clarke.
The Popcorn is the first to be revealed, and she is… singer TAYLOR DAYNE! The Jellyfish is next to be unmasked. The Jellyfish is… Olympian CHLOE KIM! And TORI KELLY is revealed as the Seahorse!
