Westfield owns and operates 35 shopping centres across the USA, UK and Europe. The retail company’s shopping centre portfolio is valued at £22.5bn ($31bn). Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City are two of the largest shopping centres in Europe attracting more than 73 millions shoppers in 2016 alone. More shopping centres are in development stages including a new shopping centre in Croydon.
Shoppers rushed back to the high street and shopping centres today (April 12) as England’s non-essential shops and personal care venues reopened their doors for the first time in months.
The second stage of lockdown easing came into force prompting excited shoppers to queue outside their favourite retail outlets.
Retail shoppers lined up outside shops like Primark and JD Sports from dawn to grab the first bargains of the day.
Footfall across all retail destinations in the UK was up 101 percent by midday compared to a week earlier, according to the most recent figures from Springboard.
What time does Westfield close?
Shops are allowed to open from 7am to 10pm to help prevent overcrowding.
The Government announced its intention to enable shops to remain open for extended hours as shops reopened on April 12.
In March, after the announcement, Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick said: “To support businesses to reopen and recover, I’ve extended measures to allow shops to stay open for longer.
“This is part of a package of support to help reopen our shops and high-streets safely – backed by £56 million.
“This will provide a much-needed boost for many businesses – protecting jobs, reducing pressure on public transport and supporting people and communities to continue to visit their high streets safely and shop locally.”
From Monday, April 12, Westfield London in Shepherd’s Bush and Westfield in Stratford City is open from 10am to 9pm on Monday to Saturday.
On Sunday, the shopping centre is open from 12pm until 6pm.
There are a total of 306 stores in the Shepherd’s Bush location and 236 in Stratford – each with potentially different opening times.
You can find individual store opening hours, at Westfield London Store Hours here and Westfield Stratford here.

Shopping will likely be enjoyed by millions in the coming week, but the shopping experience is likely to be different to normal as shops attempt to function amid the Covid pandemic.
In addition to extended operating hours and shops introducing their own new coronavirus protocols, several new safety measures have been introduced across the Westfield shopping centres.
Face coverings are mandatory whilst visiting Westfield Stratford City, including retail staff.
Only those medically exempt from wearing a face-covering are permitted into the centre without one.
One-way entry and exit systems are in place to control footfall and reduce cross path movements.
Customers are asked to keep left throughout the centre and maintain two-metre social distancing.
Hand sanitiser dispensing stations have been implemented at every entrance, lift lobby and car park to improve hygiene.
Cashless methods of payment, including for car parking, are encouraged.
There are an increased number of bike racks available to encourage the use of bicycles rather than public transport.
The frequency of deep cleaning has been introduced and mall seating has been removed.
